For our Challenge and Extreme Events, we partner with charities that have dedicated Student Fundraising Teams who have a wealth of experience to support our fundraisers alongside Carnival RAG.
Meningitis Research Foundation fund research into prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. With students the second most 'at risk' group, MRF work to promote awareness of the disease, campaign to protect to protect the most vulnerable and provide support to those affected.
We have run our Kilimanjaro Trek with Meningitis Research Foundation for the last 8 years, raising over £180,000 in the process. Meningitis Research Foundation were awarded ‘Best Charity Partner’ at our 2017 Carnival RAG Awards and 'Charity of The Year' at the 2017 National RAG Awards.
The Children's Society help children and young people when they are most vulnerable. They support young careers and runaways, help those suffering from sexual abuse, neglect and substance misuse and look to work towards a country where children are free from disadvantage.
We partner with The Children's Society on our Everest Base Camp Trek and our Carnival Chute tandem skydive. Last year, Carnival RAG raised over £80,000 for The Children's Society. The Children's Society was awarded ‘Best Partner Charity’ at our 2016 Carnival RAG Awards and 'Charity of The Year' at the 2016 National RAG Awards.
East African Playgrounds work in disadvantaged communities across Uganda including in community schools, hospitals and refugee camps, helping children learn, develop and experience childhood.
This is our first year working with East African Playgrounds. We are looking forward to running a new volunteering project with East African Playgrounds, The Uganda Gorilla Trek. East African Playground's Andy King was awarded 'Outstanding Contribution to Student Fundraising' at the 2017 National RAG Awards.
Action Against Hunger has led the global fight against hunger for over 40 years. Working in over 50 countries, they help people provide for themselves, build prosperous and sustainable communities and push for long-term change to ensure the world is free from hunger.
We have worked with Action Against Hunger since 2014, with fundraising from our Machu Picchu Trek helping Action Against Hunger to achieve their aim. Action Against Hunger's Harry Ellison was awarded ‘Outstanding Fundraising Support’ at our 2017 Carnival RAG Awards in recognition of her engagement and support of Carnival RAG.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK's largest breast cancer charity. Their aim is to prevent all deaths from Breast Cancer by 2050, funding pioneering research and developing vital treatments to help achieve this goal.
Last year Carnival RAG raised over £12,000 for Breast Cancer Now and are once again supporting Breast Cancer Now on their London to Paris Cycle this year. Breast Cancer Now were awarded 'Most Innovative Engagement of Students in Fundraising' at the 2016 National RAG Awards.
Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. They won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.
We are partnering with Mind for the first time this year. Our Three Peaks team raised over £10,000 last year and we are looking forward to running The Three Peaks Challenge with Mind this year.
National Autistic Society aim to provide individuals with autism and their families with help, support and services that they can access, trust and rely upon and which can make a positive difference to their lives.
