Kilimanjaro Summit Trek
Stand on the top of Africa, at the summit of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain. Hike through 4 different eco-systems and be greeted with an unforgettable sunrise at Uhuru Peak all at 5,895m above sea level. At the summit admire the sunrise across the crater, the sheer white glaciers and take photos that will capture those memories for a lifetime. Before celebrating your achievements with the group and your guides before the descent back down. Drive through the Ngorongoro Crater and around Lake Manyara on Safari, experiencing a huge rang of wildlife, from lemurs to lions! If rest and relaxation is more up yourstreet then you can head to Zanzibar; a magical, untouched island boasting white sandy beaches, hidden coves and empty headlands. All this whilst raising money for an amazing charity, the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Machu Picchu Trek
Traverse the high Peruvian Andes following in the footsteps of medieval Spanish Conquistadors, experience the breath-taking mountain passes, jungle trails and sacred peaks before beholding Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. You’ll trek past stunning lakes at the base of the Humantay glacier, around the mountain of Nevado Salkantay and through the spectacular glaciated valley, Santa Tereasa. At heights of up to 4,650m you will also be rewarded with fantastic views around Peru’s coffee plantations and fruit trees. You’ll begin trekking on the final day whilst it’s still dark and ascend Machu Picchu Mountain arriving in time for the sunrise of the Lost City of the Inca; a sight unparalleled anything in the world. You have the opportunity to explore the ruins, tour the hot springs and celebrate your achievement with your fellow trekkers before taking the train back to Cuzco in time for dinner. Everest Base Camp
Staring Earth’s highest peak in the face. A backdrop of stars surrounds you as you gaze at the magnificence of the Himalaya’s. Known as Sagarmartha in Nepal, enjoy this unique and life-changing experience to see the ‘goddess of the sky’ for yourself. Your journey to the Everest Base Camp begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital and takes you via twin engined plane to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu region. From here you will continue on your EBC trek into the heart of the Nepali Himalaya, taking in some spectacular scenery along the way. The main highlight on your journey to Everest Base Camp will be the majestic snow-capped peaks that line the steep sided valleys, and the jaw-dropping views that await you at almost every turn. Few sites can compare to the Himalaya from this vantage point. Trek through valley’s, over steep ridges, taking in some of the most majestic mountain scenery in the world on your way to the infamous Everest Base Camp. All whilst raising money for a fantastic charity, The Children’s Society.
Uganda Gorilla Trek
Take on the challenge of trekking and canoeing through the foothills of volcanoes and the lakes of Western Uganda. Experience the landscape, culture and wildlife of the country as you pass through a variety of different terrains, altitudes and beauties, staying on small islands at the heart of local communities along the way. Spend an unforgettable day finding the last remaining silverback gorillas, feeling like a true explorer as you cut your way through the underbrush to find the gentle giants, before spending a breathtaking hour in their company, watching, observing, and walking alongside them. New York Marathon
Why not take on the challenge of a lifetime in one of the world’s most iconic cities? New for this year, Carnival RAG bring you the New York City Marathon. The New York City Marathon is the iconic road race set to the famous backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Over 50,000 runners take to the start line at Staten Island before running through all five boroughs of New York City. Race day atmosphere is simply indescribable as two million people cheer you on. Your marathon will be a spine-tingling experience from start line to the finish line in the beautiful oasis of Central Park in the middle of Manhattan. Not only will you have the sense of achievement and incredible experience of running New York, but you could be enjoying up to two weeks to take in the sights, all whilst raising money for National Autistic Society.
